Hi. I would like to have the hardware for my clawfoot tub refinished. Need the handles, drains, pipes etc. re-plated with chrome or brass. Looked in the net and was very expensive to have done professionally by a company that specializes in the area ,(over 1K) ug... have a budget to work in. Any ideas or thoughts for replating? I have a rather large (floor to ceiling) vintage styled bath tub with quite a few shelves built into the side. It is a bright turquoise. I was wondering how much, average, it would cost to refinish it white professionally and for DIY.

Have you ever used Rust-Oleum's Tub and Tile Refinishing Kit? What were your experiences? I tried using Krylons "Fusion" with poor results. Surface is now mottled and flaking. Please advise on how to update guest tub.
